Business Development Director – EPC Segment
FlexGen is an innovative software and services provider in the global energy storage sector, based in Durham, N.C. They are seeking a Business Development Director to lead strategic engagement with EPC firms for utility-scale energy storage projects, focusing on building relationships and integrating FlexGen's solutions into projects.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute FlexGen’s business development strategy for the EPC channel across North America
Build and manage relationships with EPC firms involved in energy storage and hybrid power projects
Identify partnership opportunities and support EPCs in integrating FlexGen’s software and services into their project delivery models
Collaborate with internal engineering, product, and delivery teams to align technical solutions with EPC requirements and timelines
Lead the preparation of commercial proposals, scopes of work, and partnership agreements tailored to EPC workflows
Represent FlexGen at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings (~60% travel expected)
Monitor market trends, project pipelines, and regulatory developments relevant to EPCs and energy storage
Estimated travel to customer and project sites (40-60%)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field (advanced degree a plus)
5+ years of experience in the energy sector, with at least 2 years working directly for or with an EPC firm on utility-scale energy projects
Deep understanding of EPC project lifecycles, procurement processes, and construction risk management
Familiarity with energy storage systems, power conversion systems, and grid interconnection
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Experience with commercial deal structuring and project execution support
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
