The Pixie Project is a fast-paced animal rescue organization looking to add a Human Resource and Office Manager to their executive team. The role involves managing shelter HR responsibilities, assisting with financial reporting and reconciliation, and coordinating special projects for the nonprofit organization.

Responsibilities

Oversee the recruiting and onboarding process for new employees, including posting open positions and scheduling interviews

Manage benefits, including signing employees up for (and maintaining) relevant benefits, and answering coworker questions about insurance, time off, and relevant policies

Prepare year-end employee/contractor tax docs via Quickbooks

Assist with general accounts payable/accounts receivable, preparing deposits, forecasting upcoming payments and due dates

Assist with reconciling, budgeting, and quarterly financial reports

Maintain employee records while appropriately handling sensitive and confidential information

Ensure we’re adhering to hiring and employment standards/best practices

Assist with training, performance management, and conflict resolution while helping to ensure a culture of support and accountability for staff members

Maintain shelter equipment, inspections, and licensing

Coordinate office technology and vendors, taking responsibility for ensuring things are in working order and staff have the computers, equipment, and software they need

Look for opportunities to improve office workflow and efficiencies

Assist with scheduling meetings, calls, and deliveries

Assist donors and shelter visitors

Other projects as required
