Responsibilities

Follow all shop safety requirements, company policies, and work order instructions
Inspect parts for burrs, sharp edges, flaws, or finish quality using visual checks and measuring tools
Remove burrs and smooth surfaces using hand tools (files, scrapers), powered tools (grinders, sanders), or specialized deburring equipment
Configure, assemble, and bond raw composite materials and components according to specifications
Perform post-process finishing such as sanding, cutting, trimming, deburring, cleaning, priming, and painting by hand
Polish and finish surfaces to meet precise tolerances and cosmetic requirements
Complete documentation of component progress through production stages
Work collaboratively with engineering and production staff to resolve issues related to equipment, materials, and processes
Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order and keep work areas clean and organized
Track hours worked and follow all company office/production procedures

Required

High School Diploma or GED
Experience in a fabrication, assembly, manufacturing, or engineering environment
Comfortable using respirators and PPE for up to eight (8) hours per day
Ability to stand for extended periods (minimum two hours consistently)
Enjoys hands-on work with strong attention to detail
Problem-solving ability and willingness to ask questions and learn
Team-oriented with good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Safety- and quality-minded with a strong commitment to precision

Preferred

Experience working with composites, resins, adhesives, coatings, or measurement tools
Familiarity with crafting, woodworking, or precision assembly
Experience interpreting engineering documentation and GD&T
Computer literacy and experience with process tracking documentation
Willingness to be cross trained in multiple areas of finishing
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely with or without assistance
