Responsibilities
Develop and deploy AI / data solutions related to:
AI data centers
Energy optimization and load forecasting
Grid and infrastructure analytics
Work with large operational and time-series datasets
Translate energy and infrastructure constraints into AI-driven insights
Collaborate with engineering and development teams to integrate AI models into real-world environments
Work directly with electric and gas utilities, transmission planners, and engineers
Analyze and communicate:
Load studies and interconnection processes
MW, MWh, capacity, and demand charges
Power supply structures (PPA, ESA, behind-the-meter, BESS, microgrids)
Serve as a technical bridge between AI/ML teams and utility stakeholders
Ensure AI development aligns with grid constraints and operational considerations
Participate in meetings with:
County commissioners
City/state officials
Economic development organizations
Community leaders and workforce groups
Explain AI and energy impacts in clear, non-technical language
Support trust-building around jobs, grid reliability, tax base, and long-term community benefits
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in AI / ML / data engineering or Energy systems with advanced analytics
Strong Python and modern data engineering skills
Experience working with utilities, energy developers, or large infrastructure projects
Proven ability to communicate with non-technical and public-sector audiences
Familiarity with grid planning, power systems, or large electrical loads
Preferred
Utility or energy engineer who transitioned into AI/analytics OR AI/ML developer with hands-on energy or infrastructure exposure
Experience with data centers
Experience with grid modernization
Experience with BESS/microgrids
Experience with large-scale industrial loads
Ability to represent technical projects in public/community forums
