Responsibilities

Monitor LAN/WAN equipment and circuits using tools such as Riverbed Event Manager

Perform initial triage and resolve or escalate network incidents

Serve as a technical specialist during network outages and emergencies

Maintain network operations and support network expansion initiatives

Support network design analysis and configuration validation

Maintain detailed network documentation, including:

CMDB records

Circuit and equipment inventories, configuration and training materials

Document hardware failures, repairs, installations, and removals

Administer LAN/WAN services in accordance with Government policies

Coordinate and implement network hardware and software upgrades

Troubleshoot LAN/WAN performance, connectivity, and security issues

Maintain network security configurations in compliance with DISA STIGs

Create monitoring reports and ensure link functionality

Maintain and update network topologies

Resolve service tickets and escalate complex issues to Engineering teams

Interface with vendors (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, ViaSat, General Dynamics) for support

Support Zero Trust initiatives using:

Identity & Access Management (IAM)

SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk)

Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR)

Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
