Responsibilities
Perform routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing
Perform venipuncture - capillary puncture as assigned
Label tubes and specimen containers
Specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens
Perform CLIA waived laboratory tests as requested
Assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested
Complete established competencies for the position within designated introductory period
Qualification
Required
High School Graduate or equivalent
One year of clinical laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
Phlebotomy Certification where state law requires
Preferred
Completion of a Phlebotomy program
Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred
Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
