Manhattan Institute for Policy Research is seeking an editor and fact-checker for their new team focused on misgovernance and public accountability in California. The editor will support the team by ensuring fidelity to facts and producing high-quality content for City Journal, while collaborating with the existing editorial team.

Responsibilities
Work on a new team focused on misgovernance and public accountability in California
Support the team, ensuring fidelity to the facts and a high-quality final product
Collaborate with City Journal’s current editorial team on all stories produced by the California team
Do research and reporting as needed
Qualification
Required
Four-plus years of experience in an editorial role
Significant experience with fact-checking, and comfort with best practices
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in cooperation with a larger editorial team
Commitment to impact journalism—stories intended to drive real change
Familiarity with the work of Rufo, •CJ•, and MI, and a desire to work in support of MI's mission
Knowledge of and experience working on issues in and around California
Preferred
Spanish-language fluency a plus, but not required
Willingness to be based in California preferred
