Buist Byars & Taylor LLC is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to join their Trust & Estate Planning team located in Mount Pleasant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for communicating with clients, managing case files, drafting legal documents, and performing administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Communicating with clients via phone, email or in person in a timely and responsive manner
Receiving and opening new matters for the department
Schedule and calendar appointments/deadlines, manage and organize case files
Summarize legal documents
Organize, analyze and cross-check information, and review legal forms/documents for accuracy
Draft legal documents (i.e. powers of attorney, deeds, affidavits, corporate documents, probate forms, tax appeal documents)
Prepare and handle the filing of legal and corporate documents
Performing administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, filing and answering the phones
Manage, organize and use good workflow on assigned matters

Required

Minimum 2 years of experience as a paralegal
Attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice management software

Ability to multi-task and exercise a high level of attention to detail
Able to think proactively and resolve issues
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
Work efficiently with minimal supervision
Punctual and reliable
