Responsibilities

Answer phones

Schedule appointments

Collect co-payments

Complete patient registration

Provide other administrative support to the physician practice

Check in and check out patient

Verify insurances

Greet patients and escort them to exam room

Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit

Provide front office support as needed

Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight

Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Qualification

CPR certificationMedical Assistant CertificationPhlebotomyPatient registrationBasic vitals measurement

Required

High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required

CPR certification through the American Heart Association required

One year of work experience required

Preferred

Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required

Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required

Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred
