Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC milling and routing machines and related equipment to machine plastic components and thermoforming molds according to work orders, blueprints, and specifications
Aid in the design and machining of molds and tooling for plastic thermoforming using CAD/CAM software (experience with Mastercam preferred)
Perform basic edits to CNC programs under supervision
Inspect parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure conformance to specifications
Assist with secondary operations such as trimming, deburring, and light assembly as needed
Communicate clearly with the Lead Machinist and Production Manager to ensure production goals and quality standards are met
Qualification
Required
1+ years of experience as a CNC machinist or in a similar machining role
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop documentation
Basic knowledge of G-code and CNC machine operation
Comfortable working with hand tools and measurement instruments
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior team members
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Preferred
experience with Mastercam
plastics and mold-making experience
Familiarity with the design and machining of molds for plastic thermoforming
experience with Mastercam or other CAD/CAM software
