Responsibilities
Own the AI Platform Charter: Define and deliver the roadmap for shared AI infrastructure, including but not limited to agent orchestration, prompt management, RAG, model inferencing runtime, experimentation, compliance training, and data labeling
Build for Agent Orchestration: Lead the development of platforms for tools, workflow graphs, runtime policies, and guardrails to support complex agentic behaviors at scale
Deliver Production AI Systems: Oversee the shipment of systems featuring GenAI /agentic scenarios like RAG, search, recommendation, as well as more traditional ML scenarios along with computer vision, pattern recognition, and forecasting as core components, supporting both batch and real-time inference paths
Set Engineering Standards: Establish rigorous standards for platform APIs, backward compatibility, and developer experience, including documentation and onboarding models
Drive Evaluation & Quality: Define quality gates across teams, including offline/online evaluations, regression testing, and clear release criteria
Ensure Operational Excellence: Act as the ultimate point of accountability for platform reliability, including on-call processes, incident management, and SLO/SLA enforcement
Scale the Organization: Hire, mentor, and develop a high-ownership team; you will manage multiple teams through managers, setting the technical bar for the entire org
Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Product, Data, Security, Legal, and Infrastructure teams to ensure AI launches are compliant, secure, and aligned with business outcomes
Qualification
Required
10+ Years of Experience: Proven track record building and operating large-scale AI platforms (not just single features) in an enterprise environment
Proven Leadership: Experience leading 20+ engineers and managing through multiple managers, with a focus on strong execution culture
Technical Depth in AI: Hands-on experience with RAG, vector/graph indexing, high performance inferencing, model finetuning, reinforcement learning, and building retrieval systems over heterogeneous enterprise data (ERP, inventory, logistics)
Infrastructure Expertise: Experience supporting both async (batch/queue) and real-time inference paths at scale, managing cloud/infra spend and driving multi-provider LLM strategies (OpenAI, Gemini, etc.), enforcing prompt approvals, risk assessments, and human-in-the-loop policies
Reliability Mindset: Experience owning production reliability for a platform org, including SLOs, error budgets, and post-incident improvements
Business Acumen: Ability to translate business outcomes into technical strategy with clear technical metrics
Domain Expertise: Experience building AI platforms specifically for E-commerce, Retail, or Supply Chain/Manufacturing environments
