Responsibilities

Attend hearings and trials throughout the VA Beach area; Representing clients in civil collection matters

Review and update case files, manage litigation calendars, and ensure timely progression of cases through the legal system

Engage in negotiations to resolve pending litigation efficiently, aiming for favorable outcomes for clients

Prepare legal documents and pleadings, and execute necessary filings to support case advancement

Ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards, and oversee the management of exceptions and queues within the litigation process

Qualification

Juris Doctor (J.D.)Active membership in VACivil litigation experienceLegal research toolsNegotiation abilitiesSupervising legal processes

Required

A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in VA

While one year of civil litigation experience is preferred, the firm offers opportunities for attorneys to gain experience in this area

Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis

Strong negotiation abilities

Experience in supervising legal processes

Preferred

3+ years of creditors' rights experience may be considered above $100K
