Product Design Technician
VEKA - North America is seeking a Product Design Technician to create preliminary product designs and maintain fenestration systems. The role involves utilizing CAD software for design and documentation, interfacing with vendors and customers, and providing interdepartmental support.

Responsibilities
Responsible for preliminary design of new fenestration products
Modifies existing fenestration products
Utilizes CAD Software to create & maintain various mechanical drawings
Utilizes CAD Software to create & maintain various 3D drawing models
Utilizes CAD Software to create & maintain various 3D drawing renderings
Utilizes CAD Software to review & revise various mechanical drawings
Releases approved drawings for internal VEKA usage
Creates & maintains cutting formulas
Creates & maintains bills of materials
Maintains master profile chart
Coordinates & creates 3D printed samples & prototypes
Develops & maintains preliminary product costings
Maintains system fabrication manuals
Interfaces with vendors & customers when appropriate
Forwards drawings to vendors & customers
Maintains product weight chart
Provides interdepartmental support
Assists on projects with vendors & customers
Provides direction to and mentors CAD Operators
Responsible for file maintenance
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Creates preliminary product designs & costing information
Maintains fenestration systems through appropriate documentation
Provides information to other departments, vendors & customers
Responsible for preliminary design of new fenestration products
Modifies existing fenestration products
Utilizes CAD Software to create & maintain various mechanical drawings
Utilizes CAD Software to create & maintain various 3D drawing models
Utilizes CAD Software to create & maintain various 3D drawing renderings
Utilizes CAD Software to review & revise various mechanical drawings
Releases approved drawings for internal VEKA usage
Creates & maintains cutting formulas
Creates & maintains bills of materials

Working knowledge of fenestration, fabrication & fabrication tooling
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Excel & Word software
Keeps current with the latest CAD Software & Design tools
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good documentation skills
Ability to work in cross functional environment
