Mid LevelMastech Digital is seeking a System Analyst with strong experience in legacy mainframe applications to support and enhance a Merchandising application portfolio. The role involves analyzing business requirements, writing functional specifications, overseeing vendor-led development, coordinating UAT, and recommending implementation strategies.

Responsibilities
Analyze legacy mainframe applications and business processes
Write and maintain Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs)
Review and approve technical solutions proposed by a third-party development team
Oversee development lifecycle from unit testing through UAT
Coordinate and monitor User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users
Access and review mainframe components for analysis and issue resolution
Provide implementation recommendations and support release planning
Communicate risks, dependencies, and impacts due to scope or priority changes
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of COBOL and DB2 (mandatory)
Working knowledge of JCL, VSAM, IMS, Easytrieve, SQL
Experience supporting or leading legacy mainframe applications
Strong functional analysis and documentation skills
Vendor and stakeholder management experience
Ability to review test results and guide remediation
Preferred
Retail or Merchandising domain experience
Experience working in large enterprise environments
Prior role as System Analyst / Lead Analyst / SME
