Responsibilities
Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements and processes for IT development (BRDs)
Perform data assessments, data gap analysis, and remediation
Plan, manage, and execute UAT and migration testing through successful delivery
Liaise cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, IT, and other stakeholders to support design, development, testing, go-live, and operational readiness
Provide post-implementation aftercare, ensuring timely remediation of unforeseen issues
Proactively manage risks, issues, and escalations
Ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of assigned initiatives
Facilitate working groups and governance forums; prepare agendas, materials, minutes, and stakeholder communications
Support enhancements to the finance control environment, including upstream processes and controls
Demonstrate strong knowledge of Global Markets and Global Banking product lifecycles and associated finance and banking processes
Navigate complex data systems and architectures, including upstream source systems and downstream reporting
Partner closely with the Finance Strategy group on new transactions, products, or business activities
Act as the primary point of contact for business line data and functional topics within project teams
Maintain and validate BRDs in line with evolving requirements
Coordinate with internal finance teams on schemas, mappings, and downstream reporting impacts
Ensure accurate representation of accounts, products, legal entities, and source systems in implementations
Track timelines and budgets, provide weekly status updates, and participate in OpCo / SteerCo meetings
Anticipate and resolve blocking issues with appropriate escalation
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, and support other finance initiatives as priorities evolve
Ensure adherence to change management controls, governance, and accountability frameworks
Prepare high-quality PowerPoint and Excel analyses and presentations for working groups and senior management
Qualification
Required
CFA-qualified or Finance / Accounting university degree
7–10 years of experience in accounting and/or accounting systems within the financial services industry
Strong technical accounting background, including upstream systems, sub-ledgers, general ledger, and downstream reporting
Experience in business analysis and application testing
Ability to understand complex financial products, system architectures, and accounting processes, including: IAS / IFRS and US GAAP, Month-end close, Management and financial reporting, Entity consolidations and multi-currency accounting
Hands-on experience with accounting and reporting for complex products such as: Derivatives, FX, Equities, Fixed Income, Treasury, Loan Syndication, Trade & Supply Chain Finance
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and independent working capability
Ability to challenge constructively and apply professional skepticism
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to varied audiences
Experience working effectively in geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SQL preferred
Preferred
CFA and/or strong exposure to financial products
Knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP
Experience partnering with IT on finance systems or product implementations
Background in Accounting & Reporting Business Analysis and Application Testing (sub-ledger, GL, reporting tools)
Fluency in French, Spanish, and/or Portuguese
Exposure to emerging tools and technologies such as Robotics, Alteryx, BI, AI, or similar analytics solutions
