The State of Missouri is seeking a detail-oriented Public Health Program Associate committed to protecting the health and safety of long term care residents. This role involves conducting licensing activities for long term care facilities and adult day care centers, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and assisting in policy development and staff training.

Responsibilities

Evaluate information submitted by long term care facilities and adult day care centers to ensure regulatory compliance with licensure standards
Serve as the primary contact for the licensure of adult day care centers. Review and process adult day care applications, including the preparation of letters and licenses, and answering questions related to adult day care regulations
Process long term care facility status changes and bed changes/relocations while utilizing state regulations for guidance
Process licenses for long term care facilities and work closely with clerical staff to ensure deadlines are met
Communicate with long term care facility and adult day care providers
Track fees paid for licensure and process refunds as appropriate
Compile and enter data for reporting and tracking
Assist with reviewing complaint packets for completion and finalization
Assist with the development of policies, procedures, and regulations, and assist with staff training or other special projects as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree or can substitute experience for education
Be able to quickly gain knowledge of statutes and regulations related to the licensure of long term care facilities and adult day care programs. Must be able to review and understand state regulations, as well as apply the regulations in day to day work
Excellent oral and written communication skills and basic computer knowledge
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines/timeframes, use critical thinking skills and requires a professional demeanor when interacting with customers
Skills in effectively working with diverse individuals and populations, providing good communication with team members, regional offices, other departments, the public, and stakeholders
Ability to compile and enter data for reporting purposes
