Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

Support the EHS Director in implementing and maintaining company-wide safety programs, procedures, and policies
Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments across operational areas
Assist in incident investigations, participate in root-cause analysis, and help implement corrective and preventive actions
Deliver or support safety training, toolbox talks, orientation programs, and ongoing education for employees and supervisors
Monitor workplace conditions to identify unsafe behaviors, hazards, and improvement opportunities
Maintain safety documentation, logs, and compliance-related records in accordance with OSHA and company requirements
Support compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards through inspections, documentation, and continuous improvement
Participate in the development and rollout of safety initiatives and EHS performance improvement projects
Assist with emergency response plans, preparedness activities, and safety equipment inspections
Serve as a resource for employees and leadership regarding safety procedures, PPE requirements, and best practices
Help track, analyze, and report key safety metrics and trends to the EHS Director
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety, occupational health, or EHS-related role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safe work practices, and hazard control methods
Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations, or safety training
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to be regularly present on the production floor
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn EHS reporting systems
Commitment to supporting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement
Bilingual in English and Spanish is required

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is preferred
Certifications such as OSHA 30, ASP, GSP, or other safety-related credentials are a plus (but not required)
