Responsibilities
Design scalable, secure integration architectures between HubSpot and third-party platforms (ERP, billing, product, data warehouses, proprietary APIs)
Translate business requirements into technical system designs and data models
Advise internal teams and clients on integration best practices and tradeoffs
Build custom integrations using:
HubSpot APIs (CRM, Engagements, Objects, Webhooks, OAuth)
RESTful APIs (JSON, OAuth2, token-based auth)
Middleware and iPaaS tools on occasion (e.g., Zapier, Make, Tray, Workato, custom Node/Python services)
Develop custom code (Node.js, Python preferred) for data synchronization, event handling, and automation
Create and manage custom HubSpot objects, schemas, and associations
Ensure data integrity, idempotency, error handling, retries, and logging
Monitor integrations for failures, performance issues, and data drift
Optimize for scale, rate limits, and long-term maintainability
Partner with our HubSpot, Marketing, and Development team to create the best solutions for our clients
Engage directly with clients on your projects
Crystal clear, accurate, and thorough communication is a must both internally and externally
Provide technical leadership and code reviews for integration work
Document architectures, decisions, and runbooks clearly and thoroughly
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional integration development experience, including ownership of integrations in production environments with real users and SLAs
3+ years working directly with HubSpot APIs and advanced CRM implementations
Strong experience with REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth2, and asynchronous systems
Proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js or Python strongly preferred)
Experience with middleware/iPaaS platforms and custom-built integrations
Solid understanding of data modeling, relational concepts, and sync strategies
Deep familiarity with custom objects & associations
Deep familiarity with CRM API & Webhooks
Deep familiarity with private apps & OAuth apps
Deep familiarity with operational limits and API constraints
Experience working in complex, multi-portal HubSpot environments
Preferred
Experience integrating HubSpot with SaaS products
Experience integrating HubSpot with billing systems (Stripe, Chargebee, NetSuite)
Experience integrating HubSpot with product databases or data warehouses
HubSpot Developer Certification or Solutions Partner experience
Experience in agency or consulting environments
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, serverless, queues)
Strong written communication and technical documentation skills
