Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
Build and mentor a high-performing team of manufacturing engineers
Set clear goals, KPIs, and accountability for value-added contributions
Develop and execute the manufacturing engineering strategy aligned with business objectives
Work with Design Engineering to apply DFM principles early in the design phase
Partner with Production to resolve manufacturing issues and improve throughput
Collaborate with Supply Chain on sourcing decisions that impact manufacturability
Design, validate, and implement efficient manufacturing processes for new and existing products
Lead lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives
Optimize plant layout, workflow, and material handling for maximum efficiency
Oversee design, procurement, and maintenance of tools, fixtures, and equipment
Evaluate and implement automation and advanced manufacturing technologies
Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality
Achieve measurable improvements in productivity, scrap reduction, and cycle time
Maintain accurate process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Own manufacturing readiness for new products, ensuring smooth transition from design to production
Develop robust process validation and risk mitigation plans
Implement and sustain 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) across the production floor
Conduct regular audits and training to maintain workplace organization and visual management
Drive cultural adoption of 5S as a foundation for lean manufacturing
Track and report on key metrics: cost savings, efficiency gains, quality improvements
Use data-driven analysis to prioritize improvement projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver measurable business impact
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
