The Asphalt Lab Technician will work under the supervision of senior staff to perform laboratory tasks related to construction and geotechnical materials, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Under supervision of higher level laboratory staff, learn and assist with tasks and perform basic testing duties

Prepare samples and maintain proper labeling and documentation

Provides clear documentation of findings and results

Maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness

Communicates information to Laboratory Manager/Supervisor and other personnel as directed

Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management

Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects

Qualification

Asphalt Plant QC CertificationQMS Roadway Technician CertificationMicrosoft WordMicrosoft ExcelTesting for AC content

Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel

Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Preferred

Valid Asphalt Plant Level 1 Quality Control (QC) and/or QMS Roadway Technician certifications

Experience with testing for AC. content by ignition, gyratory density, theoretical density, extraction/gradation, and bulk densities
