Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs (preferably Siemens TIA Portal )

Diagnose I/O issues, sensor failures, communication faults

Support commissioning of new control systems

Assist with HMI troubleshooting and updates

Review and improve control logic for pump performance and safety

Configure and tune VFDs (ABB, Siemens, Danfoss, Yaskawa, etc.)

Diagnose drive faults (overcurrent, ground faults, thermal trips)

Integrate VFDs with PLC control systems

Perform motor startup and commissioning

Read and interpret electrical schematics

Wire control panels, motors, sensors, and field devices

Troubleshoot 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC systems

Perform megger testing, continuity checks, and voltage diagnostics

Travel to customer job sites

Lead system startups and commissioning

Train customer operators and maintenance teams

Write detailed service and commissioning reports

Qualification

Required

5+ years in industrial controls / automation

Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens strongly preferred)

Strong experience with VFDs and motor control systems

Experience working with pumps or rotating equipment

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

Comfortable working in industrial and marine environments

Preferred

Allen-Bradley PLCs (bonus)

HMI development

Networking (Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)

Hydraulic system knowledge

Experience with: slurry pumps

Experience with: dredge systems

Experience with: marine equipment

Navy / shipyard experience (plus)
