Responsibilities
Lead monitoring and testing for critical/high risk processes to ensure right controls are in place
Directive, Preventative, Detective and Corrective Controls
Assures that all implemented processes and steps are followed to avoid risk
Ensure that reporting is accurate in all systems of record, test when inaccuracies are reflected, and find root cause and remediation of errors
Regularly review and update test plans to reflect change in the organization and in the overall risk and control environment
Research and interpret current and pending governmental laws and regulations, industry standards
Assist in mitigation of risk to improve regulatory relationships
Performs evaluation of internal controls, communications, risk assessments and maintenance of documentation
Support first line audits and exams working directly with internal partner and supporting management with information for regulators
Understand business processes and make recommendations if changes are required
Remediate erroneous processes and risks through closure of the findings
Aid to provide reporting and status updates to Senior Management and internal peers related to potential areas of improvement
Identify risk and evaluate deficiencies while working with internal departments/business units to appropriately remedy them
Communicate audit results and prepare written documentation/reports
Conduct and analyze reports to determine if remediation is required and to develop remediation plans. Summarize the various reports, their results, and remediation plans, and adhere to strict compliance and regulatory requirements
Work on the execution of key risk programs that ensure Green Dot follows company policies, procedures, and all applicable laws, rules, regulations, including agency and investor requirements
Conduct sample testing every day/week/month/quarter which includes listening to calls, performing case reviews, tracking opportunities, and reporting the findings
Assist in special projects as necessary
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, ideally in a contact center, compliance, audit, or related field
Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with executive leadership
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational abilities, with a knack for managing multiple priorities simultaneously
Detail-oriented with outstanding analytical and listening skills
Ability to make independent decisions and exercise discretion with minimal supervision
Proficiency with PC software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Ability to thrive in a high-risk, high-visibility work environment
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
5+ years of work experience in compliance, risk management, customer service or banking operations, financial services industry experience preferred
Ability to understand business practices, processes, and execution of those processes
Ability to challenge normal practices and think about problems with a wide lens
Comprehensive understanding of processes related to financial/banking laws and regulations
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships
Proficient analytical, research, organizational and problem-solving skills
Proficient with MS Office especially Excel required
