Responsibilities

Responsible for the planning, executing, and reporting of developmental flight test that supports research and advanced concept programs that support aviation initiatives for TDD-A/SID, the Army, government agencies, and the defense industry
Coordinate and executing ground and flight testing or test-related activities for the various research and development activities to include: supporting testing activities at airfield or off-site, test program management, project test support and program management for test activities
Coordinate test efforts with acquisition agencies including Program Manager's offices, TRADOC System Managers, Contractors, and the user community
Perform flight engineer test duties both from ground test control locations as well as collection of data in flight in multiple aircraft types
May act as Test Directors and supervise flight test programs and all test flight activities on assigned projects and programs
Shall collect, reduce, and analyze data from ground and flight tests, and report on testing activities
Other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
Must have a minimum of 4 years' relevant experience
Ability to identify and recommend solutions to technical problems of limited complexity by evaluating readily identifiable factors using standard methodologies
Experience in and/or knowledge of collection, analysis, and documentation of engineering and/or scientific data
Ability to pass an FAA Class III flight physical annually
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances
May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools
Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales
Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear
Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth
May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, APU, etc
