Responsibilities
Define and maintain reference integration patterns across SAP and non-SAP systems
Produce reference integration architectures by collaborating with application, data, platform, and security engineering teams
Ensure integration architectures form the foundation for new digital solutions and integrations
Continuously evolve integration standards to support changing business models and application landscapes
Leverage SAP BTP, Integration Suite, and API Management to modernize enterprise connectivity
Enable and promote event-driven architecture patterns
Champion reuse and simplification to reduce custom interfaces and technical debt
Define and evolve integration KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to improve reliability and operational visibility
Guide delivery teams to select the right integration approach (API, Event, Batch, IDoc) per use case
Act as a trusted advisor to IST and engineering teams
Participate in and challenge designs constructively in Architecture Review Board (ARB) sessions
Qualification
Required
10+ Years of experience
Strong hands-on experience with SAP Integration Suite
Strong hands-on experience with SAP API Management
Strong hands-on experience with SAP BTP
Expertise in event-based and API-led integration architectures
Experience working in hybrid landscapes (SAP & non-SAP)
Proven ability to design secure, scalable, and resilient integration solutions
Strong understanding of integration monitoring
Strong understanding of error handling
Strong understanding of operational support models
Familiarity with Clean Core–aligned integration and extension approaches
Strong decision-making skills with ability to balance speed, quality, and long-term cost
Excellent communication skills to explain architecture choices, trade-offs, and cost impacts to stakeholders
Highly collaborative and able to work across multiple engineering teams
Comfortable reviewing and challenging designs constructively
Acts as a strategic advisor and partner to technology and business teams
Preferred
Experience with enterprise-scale digital transformation programs
Prior Architecture Review Board (ARB) governance experience
Exposure to cloud-native integration patterns and modernization initiatives
