Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for marine construction projects, including piers, docks, seawalls, bulkheads, dredging, and related infrastructure
Perform quantity takeoffs from plans, specifications, and drawings
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and operations teams to develop accurate and executable estimates
Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring complete scope coverage
Conduct risk assessments and identify cost drivers for marine projects
Support bid strategy, value engineering, and constructability reviews
Maintain historical cost data and track estimating assumptions for future use
Mentor and collaborate with junior estimators as needed
Qualification
Required
5+ years of estimating experience in marine construction or related heavy civil construction
Knowledge of waterfront, marine, and shoreline construction methods, materials, and equipment
Experience with construction estimating software and takeoff tools
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Proven ability to deliver accurate, competitive estimates under deadlines
Preferred
Understanding of marine permitting, environmental, and safety considerations is a plus
