HWIL Engineer - Power & Mechanical Systems

T2S Solutions is seeking a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Engineer (Power & Mechanical Systems) to support system-level integration, validation, and verification of spacecraft, payload, and ground systems in HWIL environments. This role focuses on power systems, mechanical integration and physical test architectures, bridging detailed hardware knowledge with system-level test objectives.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and maintain HWIL test architectures that accurately represent operational power and mechanical interfaces
Integrate power systems including regulated supplies, load banks, protection devices, harnesses, and distribution hardware into HWIL environments
Lead mechanical integration efforts for HWIL setups, including fixture design, mounting strategies, and structural considerations
Support hardware bring-up, fault injection, and anomaly investigation during testing
Collaborate with systems, software, power, and mechanical engineers to ensure test fidelity and coverage
Execute and refine HWIL test procedures, including power cycling, failure modes, and recovery scenarios
Monitor and analyze power, thermal, and mechanical performance data during tests
Maintain configuration control, documentation, and test records for HWIL assets
Apply independent technical judgment to assess system behavior, troubleshoot complex issues, and make informed decisions during HWIL testing

Required

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
OR equivalent extensive hands-on experience supporting system-level hardware integration and test
Working knowledge of DC power systems, power distribution, protection, and instrumentation
Ability to read and reason electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, & mechanical drawings
Understanding of system integration and verification concepts
Strong troubleshooting skills and engineering judgment
Ability to work independently while collaborating across engineering disciplines
Security clearance or ability to obtain one (if applicable)

Preferred

Experience with HWIL, SIL, flat-sat, iron-bird, or system-level testbeds
Familiarity with spacecraft or aerospace hardware and flight-like test environments
Exposure to test automation, scripting, or data analysis tools
Understanding of thermal control concepts and environmental test preparation
Experience supporting verification & validation (V&V) activities for mission-critical systems
