Director of Procurement
Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry is a leading multi-specialty dental group committed to delivering exceptional patient care. The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading procurement strategy to support clinical, operational, and financial objectives across all affiliated dental practices, overseeing sourcing, vendor negotiations, and contract management.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute enterprise-wide procurement strategy aligned with financial and growth objectives
Establish standardized purchasing policies, formularies, and preferred vendor programs
Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives through vendor consolidation, utilization management, and contract optimization
Lead negotiations for dental supplies, equipment, labs, and indirect services
Oversee contract lifecycle management, renewals, and pricing compliance
Manage vendor performance, service levels, and issue resolution
Partner with clinical leadership to ensure procurement decisions support quality patient care
Support onboarding of new practices and acquisitions by implementing procurement standards
Ensure continuity and availability of critical supplies and services across all locations
Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and spend analysis
Track and report procurement KPIs including savings, compliance, and vendor performance
Provide data-driven insights to executive leadership
Ensure purchasing practices comply with healthcare regulations, OSHA, infection control standards, and internal policies
Identify procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies
Directly manage and develop the Procurement Manager
Set priorities, performance goals, and accountability for day-to-day purchasing operations
Ensure alignment between strategic objectives and transactional execution
Serve as the primary procurement liaison across Finance, Operations, IT, and Clinical teams
Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of standardized purchasing practices
Influence stakeholders through data, communication, and executive alignment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
5+ years of progressive procurement experience
2+ years of people leadership or oversight experience
Proven success negotiating enterprise-level vendor contracts
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
Experience operating in a multi-site or distributed environment
Preferred
Experience in a Dental Service Organization (DSO), healthcare, or dental environment
Familiarity with dental supplies, equipment, and lab services
MBA or professional certification (CPSM, CPM, CSCP)
Experience supporting growth, acquisitions, or private equity–backed organizations
