Financial Intelligence Unit - Risk & Control Specialist
Barclays Investment Bank is seeking a Financial Intelligence Unit - Risk & Control Specialist to support the delivery of the FIU’s global strategy for proactive financial crime risk mitigation. The role involves conducting investigations, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and enhancing compliance awareness among colleagues.

Responsibilities
Identification and evaluation of potential risks associated with non-compliance or unethical conduct and implement risk mitigation strategies
Leading the investigations into alleged violations of policies, regulations, or laws
Provision of training programs to enhance awareness of compliance issues and ethical conduct among colleagues
Documentation of investigation processes and provision of recommendations for corrective actions and improvements based on investigation findings
Utilisation of advanced technology and data analytics tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of investigations
Utilisation and assessment of relevant internal and external information and intelligence in furtherance of the investigation
Where applicable, fulfilment of any necessary external legal and/or regulatory reporting obligations
To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions
Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively
Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience

Qualification
Required
Skilled in identifying, assessing, and monitoring risk with a comprehensive understanding of enterprise risk management, with a focus on financial crime and operational risk
Experience with controls testing, assessing the design, and operating effectiveness of financial crime controls; role-holder will perform controls testing through a financial crime compliance lens, whilst ensuring alignment with regulations, policies, and frameworks
Working knowledge of Issues Management processes including the use of ORAC; role-holder will be responsible for management of issues including identification, root cause analysis, assessment of materiality and driving action plans through to completion of remediation
Preferred
Quality Assurance experience: role-holder may execute Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of Suspicious Activity Investigations and provide meaningful and actionable feedback on areas of policy or process risk
Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills
Experience of working in a global financial crime environment
