Senior Safety Professional

Responsibilities
Partner with contractors to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards and practices including trenching, scaffolding, fall protection, electrical, cranes, heavy equipment, etc
Investigate and propose innovative and practical safety solutions to while ensuring risk mitigation/minimization and safety/regulatory compliance
Articulate to project leadership and contractors applicable standards, regulations, data (lagging and leading), emerging technologies, best practices, and risk reduction techniques
Provide construction safety risk and safety input during all phases of projects
Effectively communicate identified trends, significant near misses and incidents with project and safety leadership
Qualification
Required
5+ years of construction safety, industrial safety and health experience, safety engineering, or related
In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards and best practices as well as internal company standards and business practices
Self-driven and resourceful professional with the ability to solve problems outside areas of expertise
Experience in safety of multi-trade construction activities and construction safety industry/regulatory standards
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to operate within an ambiguous and changing environment
Proven strong planning, organization and prioritization skills
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
Ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations
Demonstrated strong consultative and influencing skills
Bachelor degree
Preferred
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
OSHA 500 trainer
Bachelor degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Construction Safety, Engineering, Architecture or related
Advanced degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Construction Safety, Engineering, Architecture or related
