Responsibilities
Lead enterprise-wide Epic or other EMR/EHR implementations and upgrades across hospital and ambulatory settings
Collaborate with clinical departments (Physicians, Nursing, Ancillary Services) to align technology with patient care workflows
Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risk mitigation, and change management
Oversee integration with third-party clinical systems (PACS, LIS, Radiology/Cardiology platforms, etc.)
Maintain executive-level communication and reporting
Guide training, and post-deployment optimization
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and internal governance standards
Support strategic planning for technology initiatives and resource allocation
Lead and manage full lifecycle project delivery for EPIC EMR/EHR initiatives, including planning, design, procurement, testing, training, implementation, integration, go-live, and post-go-live support
Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets while aligning with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
Act as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders, clinical and technical teams, vendors, and leadership throughout the project lifecycle
Facilitate project governance, including the creation of project charters, scope documents, risk registers, and status reports
Provide ongoing risk management, issue resolution, and escalation to ensure timely project progress
Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing vendor management, ensuring deliverables and service-level agreements are met
Drive stakeholder engagement by managing expectations, providing regular updates, and ensuring transparency across departments
Establish and enforce project documentation standards, including meeting minutes, action items, decision logs, and project dashboards
Contribute to departmental budgeting and tracking, including cost optimization and resource allocation
Lead disaster recovery planning and business continuity efforts tied to EHR system implementations
Ensure training programs are aligned with clinical workflows and user needs to facilitate successful adoption
Foster cross-functional collaboration and prioritize project tasks in alignment with business objectives
Evaluate and propose enhancements to IT strategies and workflows based on evolving project needs
Qualification
Required
10–15+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in healthcare IT
Proven leadership of enterprise-level Epic EMR/EHR implementations (or similar platforms)
Clinical systems experience in one or more domains (Lab, Radiology, Cardiology, Pharmacy)
Strong understanding of hospital/ambulatory clinical workflows
History of managing large cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Bachelor's degree required
Preferred
PMP certification
