Senior Architect

Professional Search Advisors is seeking a Senior Architect specializing in healthcare facility design. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, designing, and delivering complex healthcare projects while collaborating closely with internal teams, consultants, and healthcare clients.

Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the planning and design of healthcare projects including hospitals, inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, and medical office buildings
Apply ACHA design principles and best practices to ensure efficient, safe, and patient-centered environments
Develop architectural solutions that comply with healthcare regulations, codes, and guidelines (FGI, IBC, ADA, local AHJ requirements)
Produce and oversee schematic design, design development, and construction documents
Coordinate with engineering consultants (MEP, structural, medical equipment planners, etc.)
Participate in client meetings, programming sessions, and stakeholder workshops
Support construction administration efforts, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals
Mentor junior architectural staff and contribute to project team leadership
Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
8–15 years of professional architectural experience
Significant healthcare design experience (inpatient and/or outpatient)
Strong working knowledge of ACHA guidelines and healthcare planning principles
Experience with FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities
Proficiency in Revit (required); AutoCAD and BIM coordination experience preferred
Strong understanding of building codes, life safety, and healthcare-specific regulations
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

Licensed Architect (RA) or actively pursuing licensure
Experience leading healthcare projects through construction
Familiarity with Lean healthcare design, evidence-based design, or sustainable healthcare practices
