Responsibilities
Lead all on-site construction activities for large-scale, complex projects
Develop and manage detailed project schedules and site logistics plans
Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors, inspectors, and project management
Anticipate constructability challenges and proactively resolve field issues
Maintain constant awareness of schedule impacts, sequencing, and manpower needs
Enforce all company, OSHA, and Cal/OSHA safety standards
Lead site safety meetings and ensure compliance with site-specific safety plans
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite at all times
Partner with safety teams to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
Ensure work is installed per contract documents, codes, and company quality standards
Conduct inspections and punch walks; manage deficiency resolution
Oversee testing, inspections, and documentation requirements
Ensure proper closeout procedures, including turnover packages
Lead, mentor, and develop Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and field staff
Foster a collaborative, respectful, and high-performance jobsite culture
Hold subcontractors accountable to contract requirements and performance standards
Serve as the primary on-site contact for owners, architects, and inspectors
Participate in owner and subcontractor meetings as needed
Provide clear, timely reporting on schedule, safety, and field progress
Support dispute resolution and maintain positive working relationships
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects
Proven experience leading large, complex projects from start to finish
Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and scheduling
Thorough understanding of California building codes and regulations
OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience with Bay Area projects and local jurisdictions
Experience with large GCs or design-build delivery
Proficiency with construction technology platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
Experience mentoring and developing field leadership teams
