Responsibilities
Conduct asphalt and concrete field and plant inspections
Perform field observations and materials sampling/testing during roadway construction
Execute laboratory testing on construction materials including asphalt, soils, and concrete
Perform nuclear density gauge testing on soils and asphalt pavements
Cast and collect field samples of concrete, masonry, grout, etc. for strength verification
Pick up construction material samples and transport them to the lab
Accurately document findings and test results
Communicate findings with the Project Manager and ensure accuracy of data before submittal
Submit all required reports and documentation as directed
Qualification
Required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness and ability to travel locally and occasionally to out-of-town job sites
Ability to read and interpret maps, directions, project specifications, and construction plans
Physically able to lift, move, bend, climb, and work in various outdoor conditions and terrains
Capability to obtain necessary industry certifications
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Word)
