Sr. Director of Human Resources
enhanceHCM is partnering with a growing food manufacturing company to find a local, hands-on HR leader to step in as Interim Head of HR during a maternity leave. This role requires a strong operational HR background and deep expertise in California compliance, where the HR leader will oversee operations across multiple manufacturing plants.
Responsibilities
Lead HR operations across 3 manufacturing plants (2 CA, 1 UT)
Oversee a small HR team and provide daily guidance and leadership
Act as the primary HR partner to plant managers and employees
Ensure compliance with CA wage & hour laws, Workers’ Comp, safety, and labor regulations
Support employee relations, investigations, and policy application
Understand timekeeping and payroll workflows to ensure compliance
Navigate a 24-hour, 5-day/week production environment
Support cross-training and continuity during the leave period
Qualification
Required
Strong operational HR background
Comfort working onsite in a plant environment
Deep expertise in California compliance

Local to the Bay Area / Northern California (travel candidates not preferred)
