Early Childhood Program Engagement Assistant

Minus 9 to 5 is dedicated to supporting the growth, development, and learning of children from conception to kindergarten. The Early Childhood Program Engagement Assistant will work with staff and community partners to develop, implement, and evaluate activities of the VQB5 program, ensuring successful completion and engagement of families in early learning environments.

Responsibilities

Works with Minus 9 to 5 staff and community partners in the development, implementation, evaluation, and timely reporting of the results of all required activities of the VQB5 program with key activities including building relationships, increasing access to high quality early learning environments, strengthening quality of programming, and engaging families in the process
Provide resources and support to programs/providers participating in VQB5 within the Ready Region Southeastern areas to include technical assistance for LinkB5 Data Collection Portal to successfully complete outlined objectives
Implement activities related to VQB5 program:
Provides case management for a caseload of approximately 100 programs from beginning to end of VQB5 year to ensure successful completion of VQB5 activities including relationship building, support for registration, information on observation processes, external observations, and other supports as needed serving as the main point of contact to centers, schools and family day homes
Monitors program progress and identifies additional supports needed to ensure success
Participates in monthly supervision with Program Success Supervisor
Hosts Fall LinkB5 registration workshops with support of Community Engagement Coordinator
Visits each program at least once per observation window to build relationships and share resources
Identifies one ECCE leader to highlight per observation
Makes referrals to coaching services for programs on caseload based on CLASS scores and helps to develop targeted supports for programs on the Priority Coaching List
Hosts regularly scheduled Info Sessions for VQB5 programs on VDOE updates and regional

Required

Associate's degree in early childhood education, early intervention, educational psychology, development psychology or a related field
One (1) year of experience working with staff in early care and education programs, social service agencies, schools or other private and public early education settings
Knowledge of child development, and early childhood education classroom best practices
Ability to use multiple databases and spreadsheets such as EXCEL in an organized, proficient, and accurate manner
Ability to comfortably deal with multiple interruptions on a continual basis, always maintaining a friendly interface with others
Collegial nature and collaborative style when working in a team dynamic
Natural and confident ability to explore and identify mutually beneficial solutions

Preferred

Experience with the CLASS- Classroom Assessment Scoring System tool preferred
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with public, partners, customers, and co-workers; while working cooperatively and effectively with others to achieve common goals
Ability to manage time and resources to ensure assignments are completed accurately and deadlines are met. Meets attendance/punctuality requirements
Ability to adapt to changing work environments, work priorities, and organizational needs. Takes independent action to address and resolve problems
Ability to express ideas effectively and demonstrate sound judgment with regard to decision-making
Ability to deal with others in a direct honest manner and comply with all EVMS policies and procedure
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistical analysis
