Board Certified Behavior Analyst

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will oversee and develop individualized client programming, supervise staff, and ensure the implementation of behavioral strategies in accordance with professional standards.

Responsibilities

Consult with all essential team members about all client skill acquisition and maladaptive behavior reduction programming, implement client plan and program modifications as needed, assist in providing client accommodations, and social skills instruction
Provide staff with all necessary resources, tools, and modeling techniques
Assist in overseeing and providing consultation to ABC staff regarding client skill acquisition and maladaptive behavior reduction programming, and Individualized Education Programming (IEP) implementation
Must attend all client IEP meetings and pertinent parent, caregiver, legal guardian, and/or family meetings
Develop and oversee the implementation all client skill acquisition and maladaptive behavior reduction programming, assess client progress and program effectiveness, and make modifications to client programming as necessary
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and devise appropriate maladaptive behavior support plans (BSPs) accordingly
Coordinate communication between the client’s parents, caregivers, and/or legal guardians, family members, and the client’s school and other service providers
Ensure the timely completion of program modifications, materials, progress reports, and graphed data
Ensure that all behavioral strategies are implemented consistently and accurately across all clinical systems and settings
Develop data-tracking mechanisms and reporting strategies to convey pertinent clinical client information
Attend client team meetings as necessary or as requested
Participate in the presentation of client progress
Act as an active training member for direct care and management staff. This includes onsite staff training, ABC initial employee orientation training, and clinical staff team meetings
Ensure that all staff members demonstrate proficiency in implementing ABA programming, by utilizing behavior change procedures, which meet the designated standards of reliability and scientific rigor
Satisfactorily answer any questions, in regard to the ABA principles, by demonstrating proficiency on all evaluations developed for each of the essential skills of the BCBA position
Ensure the use of effective communication and interpersonal skills with all staff, clients, and parents, family members, or caregivers
Ensure all clients are safe by implementing and monitoring de-escalation strategies
Providing ongoing supervision of one-to-one direct ABA treatment programming
Conduct thorough medical documentation audits for all clients as outlined by ABC protocol
Participate in ongoing ABC trainings and if necessary, participate in Compliance Committee activities or directives

Required

Must be 18 years old
Must possess a valid BCBA certification
Safety Care trained (can be completed within 1 month of hire, if accepted)
CPR trained
First Aid trained
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment
Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures including, kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time
Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time
Must be willing and able to restrain, hold, transport, and utilize quick body movements as indicated by Individualized client Behavior Support Plans (IBSPs) in the course of working with clients with severe challenging behaviors
Must have the manual dexterity needed in order to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection
Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include the home, school, and community settings
Must be able to receive detailed information through oral and written communication
Must have the visual acuity to be able to read and comprehend written communication through the computer, electronic devices, and written means
Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job locations/client homes
Must have a valid California Driver's License and automobile insurance in good standing
Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed including but not limited to: Registered Behavior Technician Training (RBT); Safety Care Training; CPR and First Aid; Mandated Reporter Training; HIPAA Training; and other in-service agency trainings, as directed by assigned direct ABC Behavior Analyst Clinician Supervisor
Must be Able to Favorably Pass Fingerprinting, Background Checks, and Drug Testing
