Assistant County Attorney

Montgomery County, Kansas is seeking an Assistant County Attorney to join their team. This full-time role involves prosecution of various cases and provides an opportunity for immediate courtroom experience under the mentorship of experienced prosecutors.

Responsibilities

Prosecute a variety of cases including traffic, misdemeanor, felony and/or child in need of care cases depending on experience level and interests
Work collaboratively with public officials, departments, and law enforcement agencies

Required

Graduated from an ABA-approved law school
Licensed to practice law in the state of Kansas or ability to obtain licensure before employment begins
Strong communication, research, and analytical skills
Ability to work collaboratively with public officials, departments, and law enforcement agencies
Willing to relocate to southeast Kansas

Preferred

Prosecution experience from 0-5 years is preferred, but candidates with additional experience are also strongly encouraged to apply
