Hybrid Bilingual Japanese Regional Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant (Los Angeles, CA)
Triup, Inc. is a growing Japanese multinational seeking an experienced bilingual Japanese accounting professional to join its North American regional finance team. The role involves overseeing financial governance, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing leadership to subsidiary accounting teams.
Responsibilities
Oversee monthly and quarterly consolidation packages and review subsidiary financial statements
Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting to Japanese HQ
Act as the primary accounting counterpart for HQ financial inquiries
Lead regional FP&A activities, including monthly variance analysis, budget vs. actual tracking, and cash flow management
Provide insights and recommendations to support business and financial strategy
Manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory requirements
Maintain and enhance internal controls, including J-SOX / US-SOX compliance
Identify and mitigate accounting, tax, and reporting risks across subsidiaries
Provide guidance and oversight to subsidiary accounting teams
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
Support and mentor accounting staff as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
7–10+ years of accounting experience for Manager-level candidates
(Senior Accountant candidates: 3–5+ years of strong corporate accounting experience)
Fluent in both English and Japanese (business level or higher required)
Strong knowledge of US-GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with month-end close, financial statement review, and consolidation
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft GP, or similar)
Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
CPA certification (U.S. or Japan)
Experience in multinational or multi-entity organizations
Knowledge of IFRS and/or J-SOX / US-SOX
Experience working directly with Japanese HQ
Prior experience guiding or reviewing the work of other accountants
