Research Associate- Tissue Culture or Double Haploids

Responsibilities
Conduct cell and tissue culture procedures and experiments in conjunction with Research Scientists, exercising independent judgment and discretion as appropriate
Maintain laboratory organization and ensure compliance with best laboratory practices
Collaborate with greenhouse personnel to evaluate, sample and harvest plants
Collaborate with researchers working in related projects to exchange information and incorporate new insights
Document experiment results, analyze data, prepare presentations/reports and communicate results with broader teams and stakeholders
Manage multiple projects and deadlines within a matrixed organization, working independently or collaboratively as needed to accomplish specific research goals
Build solid relationships and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
Follow all safety guidelines and maintain operational excellence through quality management and good housekeeping
Qualification
Required
Experience with standard laboratory instrumentation, devices, and equipment
Experience with microscopy and imaging systems
Strong background in cell biology / tissue culture techniques and sterile laboratory practices
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues
Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and technical writing skills
Perform tasks safely under Corteva's core values and maintain compliance with best laboratory practices
Bachelor's in biology, biotechnology, horticulture, agriculture, or other related plant-science disciplines with an emphasis in laboratory-based science
Course work and/or lab experience in tissue culture, plant physiology, cell biology, genetics, or other lab-based plant-science experience
Preferred
2+ years of experience in lab-based plant research is preferred
Knowledge/ experience in double haploid research, seed handling and/or greenhouse agriculture is beneficial
Previous experience in tissue culture or sterile technique
Previous experience with double haploid research or technology
Technologically savvy: Comfortable with technology and possesses computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Willing and able to learn other company-specific applications as required
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with diverse groups of people
Collaborative skills: Actively share knowledge and expertise to drive team success, lead and influence cross-functional teams to achieve goals
