(Internal Only) Admissions Facilitator
Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare (BRBH) is a Community Services Board providing comprehensive services for individuals with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders. The Admissions Facilitator is responsible for assessing client referrals for the Crisis Stabilization Unit, ensuring clients meet admission criteria, and maintaining positive relationships with referral sources while adhering to confidentiality regulations.

Responsibilities
Assess client referrals for services with the Crisis Stabilization Unit
Screen referrals to ensure clients meet criteria for admission based on Medicaid guidelines, unit guidelines, medical stability, and psychiatric acuity
Work directly with clients to obtain completed referral forms
Schedule admission times for appropriate clients and suggest other sources of help for those who are not appropriate for admission
Track referral-related data on various spreadsheets
Form and maintain positive relationships with BRBH and community referral sources
Utilize the Electronic Health Record to view current or past treatment for determining admission appropriateness
Present prospective client information during daily team meetings to inform supervisory, clinical, and nursing staff
Answer phones, greet clients and visitors, assist with the admissions process, and obtain items for clients from storage/kitchen
Maintain positive and professional relations and communications with clients, their families, staff, and referral sources
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum one (1) year experience working with seriously mentally ill and/or chemically dependent population
Safe Driving Record: No more than two moving violations in the last three years, no criminal driving violations in the last five years
Background Check: Candidates who are offered a position are required to undergo a background check and drug screen
Preferred
Associates or equivalent work experience
Experience in a residential/inpatient/hospital setting
Experience with admissions
CSAC or equivalent certification
