Senior Electronics Engineer - Department of Clinical Physics & Bio Engineering

The Senior Electronics Engineer will design, develop, and prototype medical electronic systems to enhance patient care, while also leading a team in delivering complex design and research projects.

Responsibilities
Design, develop and prototype medical electronic systems to deliver innovative and cost-effective healthcare solutions
Contribute to the running and improvement of the electronics calibration service for medical test and diagnostic equipment
Lead electronic circuit design and development, contributing at every stage of design, development and testing of new and enhanced products
Support research and pre-production development work
Be familiar with new technology in electronic engineering design and development
Turn research ideas and early concepts into industry standard designs
Qualification
Required
MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or other appropriate discipline or BEng/BSc/HND/HNC with a profile of knowledge and training equivalent to MSc
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Creative approach for generating new ideas
Sound knowledge of electronic design software (circuit design, circuit simulation, PCB layout design and circuit debugging)
Skills in surface-mount soldering, SMT prototyping and debugging
Excellent grasp of electronic engineering design principles
Background that includes both hardware (design, development, prototyping, testing and repair), FPGA's and embedded software
Knowledge of calibration procedure development tools
Self-motivated with good team-working skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred
Membership of a relevant professional body or professional registration as a Chartered Engineer
