Responsibilities

Create a portfolio of social media features of vendors to be posted on Instagram and Facebook throughout the market season
Interview vendors by phone or email to learn more about their stories and products; write a social media caption; and acquire photos for the post
No use of AI or Chat GPT permitted in this role – we want the posts to have a human touch!
Site visits to vendors for interviews or media collection are a possibility
Ensure a special focus on features of BIPOC vendors
Examples, guidance, and vendor contact information will be provided by the Market Director
Assist with market preparation for the upcoming season
This may include: Posting promotional flyers and lawn signs around St. Johns
Cleaning and inventorying market day supplies
Assisting the Market Director with preparing the market site, including trash pick-up and marking booth spaces on the pavement
Light maintenance in the Native Plant garden at the market site, including weeding and adding mulch
Printing and folding printed materials for the market Information Booth
Other tasks as assigned

Required

Must have Federal Work Study fund in Financial Aid Package (contact finaid@up.edu with questions)
Must be 18 or older to apply
Writing experience, including use of clear grammar
Experience using Canva or willingness to learn
Proactive communication skills
Understanding or lived experience of the diverse communities here in St Johns
Proven experience in applying anti-racist approaches to work practices
Collaborative & works well with others
Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively

Preferred

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required
