Accountant 2 (Local Government) - Lehigh County Children & Youth
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join Lehigh County Children & Youth Services as an Accountant 2. This role involves independent accounting responsibilities, including the classification, analysis, and reporting of financial data related to Child Welfare funding.

Responsibilities
Utilize and apply professional accounting knowledge, principles, and techniques
Work in the classification, analysis, and reporting of financial data
Record keeping and analysis of Child Welfare expenses accrued by the Juvenile Probation Office (JPO)
Review and process invoices and maintain and develop a financial database
Interpret regulations and determine agency protocols to ensure the maximum funding for the County
Help develop changes necessary for Juvenile Probation’s fiscal procedures as Federal and State regulations/laws are adapted and new DHS priorities are mandated
Qualification
Required
One year as an Accountant I; or
Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting
Four years of bookkeeping experience and 18 college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
