Responsibilities

Provides expertise in highway engineering and traffic operations as a member of the California Highway Patrol's (CHP) Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT)

Investigates severe traffic collisions and/or incidents, where involved parties may have suffered fatal or serious injuries

Collaborating with the CHP team

Preparing and presenting reports

Coordinating with attorneys

Participating in depositions

Providing court testimony

Operating a motor vehicle

Required

Must possess a valid certificate of Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists

Must possess a valid California Drivers License

Must participate in and obtain various certifications from the California Highway Patrol Traffic Crash Reconstruction Certification Program, along with any other necessary programs for this job

Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle
