Website and Digital Content Specialist
VIA Metropolitan Transit is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Website and Digital Content Specialist to manage the performance, functionality, and security of their websites. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional partners to enhance user experience, develop digital design concepts, and oversee website management and maintenance.

Responsibilities
Administer, configure, and optimize WordPress websites across multiple corporate domains
Oversee updates to WordPress core, themes, and plugins while ensuring compatibility and minimizing downtime
Must possess knowledge of hosting environments, CDN integrations, SSL certificates, and DNS configurations and be able to manage these systems with the support of VIA IT
Ensure accessibility compliance and adherence to VIA security protocols
Project manager for all VIA external web properties, with primary emphasis on VIAinfo.net and KeepSaMoving.com, to build new content and ensure existing content is accurate and current
Develops various components of the web site such as dynamic web pages, database procedures, forms, search functionalities, and any embedded content from third party providers. Develops concise and targeted written content for the web, conceptualizing its presentation and layout to create a world-class, highly intuitive experience for users
Maintains and improves user experience in web site design and provide creative input on design that is consistent with VIA’s brand, Public Engagement efforts and IT advancements
Manages all content on digital platforms including on-bus displays, mobile apps, kiosks and others
Works regularly and independently with staff from various departments to update or modify Internet content obtaining any assets or content necessary to assure the site meets our customers’ needs
Strategically optimizes all content to increase organic search traffic and remain in compliance with accepted usability standards and web content accessibility guidelines
Monitor and implement website security best practices, including firewalls, malware scanning, and regular backups with the support of the internal IT department
Conduct performance audits, optimize site speed, and troubleshoot errors in coordination with the internal IT department
Partner with IT/security teams to align with corporate cybersecurity policies
Manage user roles, permissions, and workflow for internal contributors
Provide support to marketing and content teams for publishing, formatting, and SEO optimization
Ensure branding, style guidelines, and governance are consistently applied across all web properties
Trains users in the effective use of digital experience as they relate to the VIA web content
Responsible for adhering to and utilizing the conventions and standards existing within VIA’s IT Division
Addresses security concerns to protect against hackers and malicious users
Serves as a liaison between various groups
Implement and maintain analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, etc.)
Generate regular reports on site performance, user behavior, and SEO metrics
Recommend enhancements to improve user experience and engagement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Media, or related field
Five (5) years professional experience administering WordPress in a large scale or corporate environment
Experience managing and maintaining enterprise hosting solutions (AWS, Azure, WP Engine, etc.)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
Must be able to understand PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
Must be familiar with SEO best practices, Google Analytics, and marketing integrations (HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce)
Must be able to troubleshoot, problem solve, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Must be familiar with corporate-level CMS governance and workflows
Must have knowledge of security hardening techniques for WordPress at scale
Must be able to train and support non-technical staff
Contribute with content creation and tracking for marketing efforts
Must be able to maintain good work attendance
