DeKalb County Government is seeking a Departmental Information Technology Specialist for the Juvenile Court. This role involves providing computer hardware and software support, performing analysis and research on department-specific applications, and assisting in the integration of various devices with departmental systems.

Responsibilities

Provides individual department specific computer hardware and software support on department business systems including install, configure, apply patches and upgrades, moves and rearrangements, and troubleshoot and perform diagnostics for Level 1 and 2 problems on department specific systems

Performs analysis and research about department specific applications and new technology, and interprets specifications, and designs modifications of low to average complexity

Maintains department specific inventories, documents activities, executes and updates procedures

Confers with department users to define requirements and validate conformance to acceptance criteria

Coordinates department specific business system implementation with users and departmental personnel

Assists in integration of desktop, laptops, mobile and other endpoint devices with department specific systems including messaging applications, system integration, management and testing tools, and business specific applications

Provides through Tier 2 support to department users for basic software and hardware of end-user computing and desktop systems

Recommends procedures and controls for problem prevention, and escalates to Tier 3 support when necessary

Participates in the testing and evaluation of new desktop and mobile device solutions, and for department specific implementations

Provides assistance and consultation to department users of computing systems software tools and applications; and trains end users in use of departmental software and business applications
