Responsibilities

Manage physical and logical networks within The Iron County School District framework
Rotate networking hardware and components on a regular replacement schedule
Monitor all network management systems and perform regular audits and network threat assessments evaluations
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annually network maintenance
Develop and regularly update documentation of the network
Provide network training for end users and support training for other technology department staff
Ensure network continuity throughout the organization
Provide routing and provisioning of new networks
Coordinate with Firewall Administrator on network project
Coordinate with Access Control to provide network services
Manage IP allocations, deploy DHCP, maintain DNS tables for each site
Maintain all network management applications
Troubleshoot network congestion, configuration errors, and client initiated interference on the network
Provide on-call, or on-site network support for special events, training, and conventions (etc.)
Responsibilities for 'on-call' support to respond to network events
Coordinate maintenance windows and outages with ISP
Acknowledged ability to set and meet timelines
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English at a level required for successful job performance
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the school district
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out essential duties of this position
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems involving concrete variables situations
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Required

Knowledge of Network Protocols and IPv4 and IPv6 TCP/IP subnetting
Knowledge of Wireless 802.11 technologies and implementation (CWNP)
Knowledge of Layer 2 and layer 3 switching/routing technologies and protocols (CCNP)
Understanding of DNS records and management
Understanding of VoIP technology and implementation
Understanding of Microsoft Certificate Authority and Network Policy Server
Understanding of Microsoft and other third-party PKI and certificate deployment
Understanding of Network Management systems and protocols such as SNMP and WMI
Understanding of Network and Host automation systems
Ensure network continuity throughout the organization
