Regional Sales Vice President

Responsibilities
Promote profitable sales growth within the region. Prioritize resources against the largest opportunities for the team. Achieve regional growth and profitability goals by assigning regional/district sales growth targets. Optimize sales team size, structure, and alignment to maximize sales team productivity. Select, coach, retain, and inspire District Sales Leaders in the region. Help create talent development plans
Provide sales leadership and demonstrate understanding of district/region sales environment and issues, e.g., growth prospects, sales team turnover. Help create sales and marketing strategies ensuring that there is agreement with the Grainger branch organization, which serves the daily needs of our customers
Coordinate with service organizations in the region to ensure delivery on customer commitments - i.e. Branches, Service Centers, Distribution Centers, Implementation Team, National Accounts. Collaborate with partners internally to maintain important customer relationships
Develop customer attraction and retention programs in the region. Assist District Sales Leaders in their understanding and commitment to live the Grainger Principles
Qualification
Required
An undergraduate degree or have equivalent related experience
Knowledge of sales strategy and marketing, customers and their requirements, and the competitive environment
Experience leading a diverse and geographically dispersed sales team. Must be accomplished at identifying and creating opportunities for developing team member potential
Change leadership and ability to encourage new thinking
Financial skills are important to create business strategies, cost/budgets, and economic earnings
Extensive travel required
