Responsibilities
Own the monthly close process
Prepare accurate P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
Ensure proper accruals, deferrals, and cut-off
Deliver CPA-ready financials with clear explanations of results and variances
Reconcile all bank accounts, credit cards, and merchant processors
Monitor timing differences, fees, and chargebacks
Maintain clean, accurate cash position reporting
Oversee accurate sales tax calculation, reporting, and remittance
Ensure compliance with state and local sales tax requirements
Coordinate with CPA firm on filings, audits, and inquiries
Maintain documentation to support tax reporting
Maintain corporate and financial documentation
Strengthen internal controls and segregation of duties
Uphold the company’s Code of Ethics through disciplined financial practices
Ensure audit-ready records year-round
Serve as primary point of contact for CPA firm
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation
Translate CPA feedback into internal improvements
Reduce CPA back-and-forth through clean preparation
Own the financial integrity of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Ensure accurate data flow and reporting within the ERP
Support leadership in leveraging financial reporting for better decision-making
Monthly reconciliation of inventory values to the general ledger
Ensuring inventory is accurately reflected in the financial statements
Qualification
Required
Proven experience producing and explaining full financial statements
Strong understanding of GAAP
Experience working directly with CPA firms
Experience overseeing sales tax compliance
Advanced Excel skills
ERP experience required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central strongly preferred
