Policy Analyst – Research, Evaluation, Analysis – Community Investment

Responsibilities

Collects, cleans, validates, and processes spatial and quantitative data in support of Policy Solutions internal and client deliverables
Performs statistical quantitative and spatial analysis by way of various programming software (SQL, ArcGIS, R, etc.)
Creates maps, charts, and tables that represent the final results of the analytical processes
Contributes to presenting data analysis to clients and stakeholders
Collects and analyzes qualitative data (e.g., interviews, focus groups, literature reviews)
Supports the work and contributes to the training of interns or fellows
Ensures accuracy of work products and publications
Support ad-hoc assignments
Other duties as assigned

Required

Master's degree preferred (in social sciences, city planning, or a related field) but a combination of bachelor's degree and 2 years+ relevant experience may be considered
2+ Years of relevant experience
Data analysis skills using at least one of the following: ArcGIS, SQL, R
Subject matter knowledge in one or more of the following policy areas: housing policy, city planning, public health, early childhood education, food access, community development, related social science disciplines
Strong analytical thinking skills
Experience with statistical and spatial methodologies
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage time across multiple projects
Familiarity with qualitative research methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, literature reviews
Proven ability to work as part of a team
Ability to travel for 2 or 3 nights approximately every six to eight weeks
